A 4D ultrasound, also known as a four-dimensional ultrasound, is a type of prenatal ultrasound that allows you to see your developing baby in real time, in 3D with the added dimension of time. 4D ultrasound technology enables you can see your baby’s movements and expressions in real-time, such as smiling, yawning, or sucking their thumb.

During a 4D ultrasound, sound waves are used to create images of your baby, similar to a traditional 2D ultrasound. However, with 4D ultrasound, these images are digitally reconstructed to create a realistic image of your baby in utero.

4D ultrasounds can provide parents-to-be with a more detailed and interactive view of their baby during pregnancy, which can be a very exciting and emotional experience.
